HARPER DENNIS HOBBS LANDS RON DORFF US FLAGSHIP STORE IN NEW YORK

22.10.2021

Strategic retail property consultancy Harper Dennis Hobbs (HDH), part of U.S.-based Newmark, has announced a transaction to open Ron Dorff’s U.S. flagship store in New York City.

Men’s athleisure brand, Ron Dorff has quickly become a leading name in the rapidly expanding ‘luxe sportswear’ market, with ranges across clothing, underwear, swimwear and accessories.

With six stores across Europe in Paris, London and Berlin, Ron Dorff’s New York store is located at 475 Broome Street in Lower Manhattan, and is the brand’s flagship store in the U.S.

The new store is split across two floors – street level and basement – boasting a combined 4,565 square feet of retail space. The store opened in September of 2021.

Harper Dennis Hobbs has a wealth of experience introducing and establishing retail brands into new markets. Alexandra Tennenbaum, Associate Director of Newmark’s retail division in New York represented Ron Dorff in the transaction, working closely with the London team of Harper Dennis Hobbs.

Hannah Mahoney, Director at Harper Dennis Hobbs, said:

“Harper Dennis Hobbs has acted as sole retail advisors to Claus Lindorff, founder and CEO of Ron Dorff, since the first store opening in London in 2016. When it came to North America, with the U.S. being their biggest online market at 35% of global sales, and New York representing 12.5% on its own, it was clear to the team that we should launch their flagship store in New York.

“It is impressive to see that this French-Swedish luxury sportswear brand has come out of the COVID-19 crisis stronger than ever – building its distribution on a clear omni-channel strategy where bricks and mortar plays an integral part.”

As part of Ron Dorff’s expansion plans, the New York store follows on from a third in London – located in The Royal Exchange in The City of London.

James Ebel, CEO of Harper Dennis Hobbs, added:

“We are delighted to be a part of Newmark, and this is a great example of an existing Harper Dennis Hobbs’ client benefiting from that relationship by leveraging our wider international platform.

“At Harper Dennis Hobbs, we have a proven-track record working with brands entering new markets. In this instance, working together with our wider team at Newmark’s New York office, drawing on their local market experience was instrumental in delivering for Ron Dorff.”

Claus Lindorff, Founder and CEO of Ron Dorff added:

“Harper Dennis Hobbs, and in particular Hannah Mahoney, have been key partners as we have expanded our physical store portfolio over the last five years throughout Europe. The SoHo flagship store in New York is a key addition, and it was exciting to open the doors on 1st September to our New York clientele.”
